Beauty Hyper is a proudly South African cruelty-free brand that offers affordable and great quality makeup for women of all ages.
Recently, I received a PR package from the brand including 2 blush palettes, a cream contour and concealer palette and a powder eyebrow palette.
I really love the packaging! The boxes are white and minimalistic with black writing, clearly indicating the products and listing the ingredients. The palettes themselves are not bulky, but flat and rather lightweight so easy to slip into your makeup collection or travel bag. They have a little clasp which clips so you know when the palette is closed and ensures that the powders do not mix around or possibly open out into your bag. The only downside is that none of them include a mirror.
The blush palettes are my fave – they come with a range of pinks, apricots, reds and browns. The brows double as bronzer and the remaining shades can be used as eyeshadows as well. The pans are round and quite large so it’s easy to dip your blush brush into them. They are extremely pigmented so you only need to dip a little bit to get a flush of colour across your face. I have used these blushes for an editorial look as well where I had to mix multiple pinks across my face and I must say, they really blend well together! I will say that the Vol 2 palette is more suitable for those with deeper skin shades and the lighter shades in Vol 1 are more suitable for those with fairer skin shades. The wide range of uses make this palette extremely versatile.
Next up, the contour palette. I’ve always been hesitant of cream contours because they are difficult to blend. But I must say these blend out quite nicely. The only downside is that the shades aren’t dark enough for deeper skin tones. The cream contours are darker and have grey/cool toned shades so when blended out they create a natural shadow. I find it best to blend these out with a damp beauty blender and then set it with a contour powder to prevent smudging. I was super impressed with the cream concealers – they are incredibly creamy, hydrating on the skin and the lighter shades act as a great eyeshadow base which helps your colourful eyeshadow pop!
The eyebrow pro palette is a lifesaver! Because of my dark hair, I use the bottom row to lightly fill my brows in with the dark brown, clean them up with concealer and then use the lighter concealer to highlight my brow bone. I like the powder because it creates a softer, natural brow and also allows you to have more control when filling in your brows.
Overall, I was really impressed with these palettes and continue to get great use from them! At only R150 – 180 (all under R200!) they really are a bargain and TOTALLY worth the hype!
